Complaint Process

The Manitoba Securities Commission investigates complaints involving activities that involve The Securities Act, The Commodity Futures Act, The Real Estate Brokers Act and The Mortgage Dealers Act. Just follow the steps under the appropriate area (See above, securities, commodities or real estate sections). This may help you find a simple solution or will give you the instructions needed in order to launch a formal complaint with the Manitoba Securities Commission.

All complaints are reviewed to determine if an investigation is required. If an investigation starts, the matter will be assigned to a commission investigator who will contact the complainant to obtain further information.

In some cases a decision will be made not to investigate a complaint. A complaint may also be referred to another police or regulatory agency.

Be sure to provide all documents and as much information as possible when making a complaint. The commission's complaint forms are intended to help you decide what information is required.
